The unique texture, unlike glass, is achieved by applying silver glaze to the surface and firing it. The gleaming gold on the inside is the result of a chemical reaction with silver. By exquisitely adjusting the firing time, silver, which normally turns black when heated, is finished at the exact moment it turns gold. The silver-glazed parts will gradually change over time, so you can also enjoy the aging process, which is rare for glass.
