From Saturday, April 13th, at the Asakusa Kappabashi main store,
"Shiho Hayasaki Glass Exhibition" held.
In addition to our popular "Tentenboshi" series,
Fusing and pâte de verre, etc.
Works using a variety of techniques are on display.
Glass that suddenly blooms
The first thing that catches your eye is the colorful flowers blooming in the glass.By layering colored glass, the colors of the petals and the center of the flower,
Each one has its own personality.
The metals contained in the glass react to give it its color.
Sometimes unexpected colors emerge.
The ponte marks on the bottom that are created during the manufacturing process are polished smooth.
You can feel the attention to detail and consideration for the user.
Various techniques, expanding expression
He mainly works on blown glass,
Fusing involves melting plate glass together in an electric furnace.
There are many different ways to express glass, including pâte de verre, in which glass powder or granules are poured into a plaster mold and then fired.
Although the techniques are different, there is a core of Hayasaki's expression.
His passion for glass is apparent in each piece.
An eye on nature
And what is common to Hayasaki's diverse works is that
A gentle gaze towards nature.
Blue summer skies, flowers fallen on the beach, snow shining in the sunlight.
Through Hayasaki's eyes, the ordinary scenery that everyone has seen at least once
It transforms into sparkling glass.
Glass shows different expressions in the dazzling morning sunlight and the red light of a sunset.
We hope you will come to our store and experience the charm of this product, which cannot be fully conveyed through a smartphone screen.
Taking advantage of the characteristics of the material,
Hayasaki's works show various scenes from everyday life.
It will be available at the Asakusa Kappabashi main store from Saturday, April 13th.
We look forward to your visit.
