This time, we'd like to introduce Nemoto Glass Art Works, a long-established company in Koto Ward that has been crafting Edo Kiriko for three generations. While preserving traditional techniques, they are constantly and bravely challenging themselves with new expressions.

What surprises everyone at the store first is the precision of the cuts. The Old Fashioned Glass Peacock Chrysanthemum Ink, as its name suggests, features a captivating peacock design, but please also pay close attention to the densely carved Kiku Tsunagi pattern, about 5 millimeters in diameter. This Kiku Tsunagi is considered one of the most difficult traditional patterns to execute. And the fact that each individual line connects perfectly requires immense accuracy. The closer you look, the more you will be overwhelmed by its perfection.

The series layered with vibrant gold-red and lapis lazuli over amber is also popular. The Old Fashioned Glass Shizuku - Gold Red Amber features bold curved cuts. Cutting on such curved surfaces tests the craftsman's skill even more than straight lines. The beauty and power that belie such difficulty are unique expressions of the Nemoto workshop.
