【Reading Material】Behind the Scenes at the Shop

Every day, the Asakusa store posts photos on Instagram and Google Maps three times, and the Ginza store twice, at opening and closing times.
Happily, the store's Instagram photos are increasingly becoming a reason for customers to visit.

Although I, and the rest of the staff, are not particularly skilled photographers, we take photos every day through trial and error. It's difficult to take good photos precisely because anyone can take them easily. This time, I asked our Brand Manager, Sano, for tips on taking photos.

Sano: First, I want our staff to always be aware of "the charm they want to convey to customers." To that end, we made it a habit to post photos on Instagram every day to find the charm in our daily lives.

Sano: "I want them to capture scenes that can be recreated in the customer's home."
The key is to focus on recording "the present moment" that the photographer feels, such as the weather and season, rather than just taking beautiful photos.

① What to shoot?
・Scenery that catches your eye
・New or restocked items
・Items you want to convey customer feedback about
・Seasonal items

② Prepare the shooting location
・A place where glass looks clean
・A place where beautiful light and shadow, or lighting, can be seen
・A place where the background does not become too cluttered with information

③ Determine the composition
・Be mindful of horizontal/vertical lines to avoid an unstable image
・Be mindful of the empty space as part of the scenery

We take photos from different locations and angles, and then, after much deliberation, select the best ones for you to see.
We will continue to deliver wonderful moments and the brilliance of glass that our staff experience daily, so that those who cannot visit our stores in person can also enjoy them.
We would be greatly encouraged if you would also take a look at our Instagram.
