Kagoshima | Crystal glass | Kiriko, shading
Production began in the mid-19th century by order of Shimazu Nariakira, the 28th head of the Shimazu clan.
It was once discontinued due to the destruction of many wars, but was restored after about 100 years.
He specializes in expressing color gradations known as "blurring," and aims to create elegant designs that will still look great 100 years from now.
