This is a kagami mochi decorated with mizuhiki and a black stand.
Although it is palm-sized, it has a strong presence.
Sandblasting technique gives it a smooth texture.
It has a slightly translucent finish.
The balance in size and shape of the top and bottom mochi is exquisite.
