Production began in the mid-19th century under the direction of Shimazu Nariakira, the 28th head of the Shimazu family.
Though production ceased once due to multiple wars, it was revived approximately 100 years later.
The brand excels in expressing color gradients called "bokashi" and aims for elegant designs that will be admired even 100 years from now.

It will be delivered in a special paulownia box.
