At Shinohara Furin Honpo, a long-established Edo furin shop, we encountered clear glass wind chimes with bubbles and wrinkles that were not suitable for painting and therefore unused. Then, we combined them with tanzaku (strips of paper) made from recycled Tsuchiya Kaban's randoseru leather, which would otherwise become surplus during the manufacturing process. These two elements were combined to upcycle them into colorful, transparent glass Edo furin.
