At Shinohara Furin Honpo, a long-established Edo Furin workshop, we encountered clear glass wind chimes with bubbles and wrinkles that were deemed unsuitable for painting and thus unused. We then upcycled these chimes by combining them with tanzaku (strips of paper) made from surplus randoseru leather from Tsuchiya Kaban Seizosho, which would otherwise be discarded during the manufacturing process. The result is a vibrant, transparent Edo Furin.
